Leg warmers and belts

Well a fair amount of progress has been made on the Link front and Sheik is now almost finished!!!
Firstly heres some shots of the Master Sword in progress (when I last saw it) which is mostly being made by my boyfriend with a small amount of busybodying from me :D

Awesome right!?

A second batch of the leather thong I was using to lace up Sheik finally arrived, enabling me to finish off her legwarmers which i also embroidered using my newly learnt chainstitch (there so comfy!)

This puts Shiek at a wearable stage, with only props, contacts, chainmail and a few tweaks left!
I'm still in two minds about bothering with the chainmail though as theres so much still to do on Link/Zelda.

Progress on the dagger and harp will start this weekend if all goes well!

Also on the Link front all the pieces I needed for the belts arrived and after a quick trip to get Link's measurements the belts were done with one swift blow (though I did add eyelets to the holes for added stability). My favourite parts are the little suns on the front and back of the chest belt. :D

As well as that I have started on the decorative plaited bits of link tunic around the collor and arms, only half of the collor is finished so far, but half the struggle was making the little fabric tubes and turning them inside out (32 in total!)

The first strip

add the second and fold the first over

the finished side!

This was all last weeks progress and hopefully theres lots more the come this weekend too so dont go anywhere ;)

A Warwick Day in the Office

Interesting day at work today it was! I met Warwick Davis who was visiting over some work we are doing for him and I got him to sign my copy of 'Willow' (it was a toss up between that and the worn looking boxset of 10th Kingdom thats been watched to death). He was really nice actually so I'm looking forwards to working with him in the future :D

Chain stich and armour

Well it caused some very sore fingers but I spent the last 2 days hard at work chain stitching the embroidered parts of the tunic decoration for Link and here is the final result:

Also I finally bought the leatherette for Link outfit and Zelda's boots and I'm really pleased with it, its so soft and realistic looking!

Other notable progress made has been on Zelda's costume, of which I have made the pauldrons and the belt with the help of my boyfriend (Link)
